Community Guide

How It
Works

Kilo Coworking Sessions are weekly live Zoom calls where the community works together on a real marketing task. You decide what we tackle — suggest a topic, vote for your favourite, and show up to get it done.

Voting on Topics

1

Browse the board

Scroll through the topic board on the home page. Each card shows the topic title, a short description, who suggested it, and how many votes it has received.
2

Upvote your favourite

Click the upvote arrow on the left side of any topic card. The vote count increases immediately and a confetti animation confirms your vote. You can upvote as many different topics as you like, but only once per topic.
3

The most-voted topic wins

At each session, the Kilo team picks the top-voted topic for the next session. Once chosen, it gets a Scheduled badge on the board so everyone knows what's coming up. After the session runs, it moves to Completed status.

Suggesting a Topic

1

Click "Suggest a Topic"

Find the cyan "+ Suggest a Topic" button near the top of the topic board and click it to open the submission form.
2

Fill in the details

You need to provide two things:

  • Topic Title — a clear, concise name (e.g. "How to write a Google Business Profile description").
  • Description — at least 100 characters explaining what you want to learn, why it matters, and what a good outcome looks like. A live character counter helps you hit the minimum.
  • Your Name — optional, but it shows on the card so the community knows who suggested it.
3

Submit and share

After submitting, a confirmation screen appears. Your topic is now live on the board and ready for votes. Share the board link with your network to get more votes on your topic!

Duplicate check: Before your topic is submitted, the system automatically checks whether a very similar topic already exists. If it finds a match, you'll be shown the existing topic and can upvote it instead.

Joining a Session

1

Find the next session

The "Next Session" card on the right side of the home page shows the date, time, facilitator, and what asset the group will be working on.
2

Add it to your calendar

Click Add to Google Calendar to open a pre-filled Google Calendar event, or click Add to iCal to download a .ics file that works with Apple Calendar, Outlook, and most other calendar apps.
3

RSVP so others know you're coming

Click the "I'm Attending" button on the session card. This is anonymous — no account needed. The live attendee count updates immediately so you can see how many people are planning to join.
4

Join on Zoom

When the session starts, click the "Join Zoom" button on the session card. Sessions are free and open to all Kilo community members.

Searching & Filtering

Search bar

Type anything into the search bar at the top of the topic board to instantly filter topics by title and description. Click the ✕ to clear.

Filter tabs

Use the All / Approved / Scheduled / Completed tabs to narrow topics by status. The Scheduled tab shows topics that have been chosen for an upcoming session.

Sort control

Sort by Votes (default: most votes first) or Date (newest first). Click the active sort button to toggle ascending/descending order.

Past Sessions

Click Past Sessions in the navigation bar to see the full archive of completed coworking sessions. Each card shows the date, topic covered, outcome notes, and a link to the session recording when available.

Common Questions

Do I need to create an account?

No. Everything on this board — viewing, voting, suggesting topics, and RSVPing — is completely anonymous. No sign-up or login required.

Can I vote more than once on the same topic?

No. Each browser can only upvote a topic once. The system tracks this both in your browser and on the server, so refreshing the page won't reset your vote.

What makes a good topic description?

A strong description explains what you want to learn, why it matters to your business, and what a successful session outcome looks like. The more specific you are, the easier it is for the facilitator to prepare. Descriptions must be at least 100 characters.

How are topics selected for each session?

The Kilo team picks the highest-voted topic that hasn't been covered yet. Voting is ongoing, so keep sharing the board to get more votes on your favourite topic.

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes. Recordings are linked in the Past Sessions archive after each session, so you can catch up if you miss one.

How do I join the Kilo Community?
